Just my thoughts...

Just my thoughts...
The randomness that is I

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Here it is, the 12th day of 2011 and I have yet to post anything. Well, here I am and I'm winging it.

2010 was an ok year. It had many ups and downs and I felt that I handled them all pretty well. Then November came. In the last two months of the year, I thought I was going to lose it. I think from Thanksgiving to Christmas, I lost 2 friends/family members a week, right on up to my birthday.

None hit me as hard as Mayor Davlin's death and the death of my dear friend G. Renee Williams aka Nae.Nae was my age. Nae had a couple of health issues, but she wasn't shot. There was no accident. Nae just went to sleep and didn't wake up. That's scary to me.

Nae's death has left a large circle of friends with a piece missing.

Nae had a beautiful spirit, a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, a beautiful voice. There just isn't much bad that anyone can say about her.

I had the opportunity to attend a brunch in her honor and I can't express enough, how wonderful it was seeing people I hadn't seen in a few years and meeting people I'd never met in person. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't make real friends via the internet. There was half a church at Nae's funeral service that said otherwise.

Despite the sad beginning, I look forward to 2011. As I type, a grand-nephew is expected to make his debut into the world. What is a grand-nephew you say? That's what I call the grandchild of my best friend.

There are some things I want to accomplish, some people I want to see and a kidney I want to get. Welcome 2011...

Rest in Peace, Renee...I didn't know her...but, through you all I see how big an impact she had. I wish I'd known her, even if only through the Internet.

I pray your 2011 will champion big things! You remain in my prayers and heart. Happy New Year (to your blog) lol

Love you~Keys
